Home should be a place of safety, stability, and comfort. But for many seniors, veterans, and low-income families in Texas, maintaining a safe home is simply out of reach. That’s where Heart & Hammer TX steps in—with skilled hands, open hearts, and a mission to make a difference.

Heart & Hammer TX: Who We Are

Heart & Hammer TX is a Texas-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free labor for essential home repairs and renovations to veterans, senior citizens, and families on fixed incomes. Founded by Tiffany Michelle, a licensed contractor and owner of Femme Fix It, Heart & Hammer was born from a deep desire to give back to the community—one house at a time.

“This work is personal. I’ve seen people forced to live in unsafe conditions simply because they can’t afford repairs. I couldn’t stand by and do nothing.” — Tiffany, Founder

We offer skilled labor at no cost, focusing on safety-focused repairs—like fixing broken flooring, installing grab bars, building wheelchair ramps, or repairing faulty plumbing and electrical work. While we ask homeowners to help with the cost of materials (for now), our goal is to raise enough donations to cover everything—labor and materials alike.

Why Our Work Matters

In Texas and across the country, thousands of aging adults and vulnerable families are living in homes that put their health and safety at risk. Leaky roofs, inaccessible bathrooms, and faulty wiring can quickly become dangerous, especially for seniors and disabled individuals.

That’s why our services are not just helpful—they’re essential. We fill a critical gap by offering reliable, compassionate home repair assistance where traditional services fall short.

Whether we’re:

  • Making a bathroom wheelchair accessible for a disabled veteran

  • Replacing dangerous stairs for an elderly homeowner

  • Or patching a roof for a family barely making ends meet...

Every project we take on reflects our mission:

To improve quality of life through safe, secure, and comfortable living conditions.

How You Can Help

Heart & Hammer TX is powered by community support. We rely on donations to purchase materials, keep tools in working order, and expand our reach.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Make a donation – Even $25 can buy paint or supplies for a critical repair

  • Spread the word – Share our story with someone who may need our help

  • Hire Femme Fix It – Every paid project helps fund our nonprofit work

  • Nominate someone in need – Know a veteran or senior struggling with home repairs? Contact us!
